Activating local cultureMacedon Ranges Shire Council

Campaign, collateral, publication design

Local culture provides a sense of identity and connection for communities. It is integral to quality of life and considered one of the pillars of long-term social sustainability. Design Democracy worked in consultation with Macedon Ranges Shire Council to develop a new strategic plan for community engagement in local arts and culture.

Macedon Ranges is a region in Central Victoria known for its world famous volcanic rock formations. We designed a striking visual identity based on these iconic natural landscapes.

The brand has been designed to evolve across the ten year plan, with flexible components able to adapt to reflect changes in Government policy and funding frameworks. The concentric circles represent participation, connection and partnerships within the community and form a strong backdrop to vibrant arts and culture events.
